    Omg

Just popped my out here at work.... the top folds were coated with dried leaves and debris! And I've less than 45K!

    Everyone, you'd better check!

    EDIT!

I pulled out the second one....didn't know the two were side by side.... HOLY JESUS! So on the way home today I noticed how much better the a/c was with the extra air..and that was with 1 of the two old ones still in there (just went out and pulled the second out)... OMG!

I'd certainly recommend to everyone you change this once a year just like you change your air filter for the engine.. Regardless of need. I'm adding it to my normal maintenance routine!

Awesome write-up! Thanks for posting this!!!

I would like to thank the thread starter for this write up.
After reading the post yesterday, I went checking my cabin filter.
All these while, I could sometime smell something when i turned on the A/C.
    GUess what?

I dont even have the filter.
I suspected the previous owner of my car had took it out and never replace it. :(
I wonder what might have stuck inside my aircond now

can someone take a picture of how the filters are supposed to go? I forgot which way they go in. Air flow is down or up?

Top side is where the outside air enters in.

thanks. I lost the peice of plastic that keeps the filters enclosed. I think it was marked on it.

Did mine yesterday. 93K and I doubt that they were ever changed. Leaves, dirt and debris, it's suprising any air passed at all.
    Got mine at H and A http://www.handa-accessories.com/civicsi.html
    Got new floormats here too.

So i went and bought a cabin air filter at walmart yesterday and came home. Then did the step by step and notice after everything the last owner of my car took the the old one. So where can i get the black rubber holder for the filter?

I've never done this before until now, never though it would make that much of a difference.... after doing this, I got rid of some smells, and the airflow was 2-3 times greater... this is something that must be done yearly, or ever 10,000 miles I guess.
