soapy water and a clean cotton towel. yeah i wouldnt use armor all either, i think it will make it crack over time.
I heard using armor all is bad for the rubber hose in the engine bay. So How do I make it nicely black and shiny again?

I've read 303 aerospace protectant is good stuff
...no personal experience with the stuff though
I usually just use water and a towel
Any oil based engine detalier is fine, not the enamel ones!
I have always used armor all, hopefully the hoses doesn't crack on me any time soon.
I cleaned all my plastics with the same detailer I used on my paint, turtle wax car wash soap, looks great
i use a leather protector.....
My buddy used an enamel based protector once & it made everything sticky until it dried. After that, most of the rubber turned white/hazy, looked like shit. KleenFlow PWD lubricant is really good also. I've also used Graphite lubricant, the same stuff you use on the weather stripping to keep it from drying out.
tire shine
1967 Firebird. . . Yeah its alright

you know tire gel that gives you the wet look?? thats what i use i works great and the hoses are a rubber just as you tires are, never had any cracking or fadding of the rubber
Clean with a brush and soapy water. Then use a silicon based protectant.

I heard that the tire wet product can cause rot in rubber if it is done too often and not properly! I would stick to a silicone based product, I like to take silicone lube and rub it into/on the hose. It works well for me, and looks nice to. I prefer the silicone spray, the kind you use and spray on the weather stripping in the door to keep the seals from freezing in the winter!
