215 max...because of the rim width.....205 is best imo for the stock rims.
whats the biggest size tires that can fit on the stock rims? with about a 1.5" drop all around with no rubbing

205 55 15 if we're talking about the 02-03
I have 225/50R16 and they fit perfect.
its what i have and im about 1 under.
this helped me out when deciding on what size to go with
tire calculator
04 Civic Si - nhbp
12 Accord EXL v6 - cbp

I have about a 2'' drop and I'm running 205/55/15's on stockies with no rubbing issues at all.
I say get the S.Drives. I was going to get them from tirerack.com but then I saw the General Exclaim UHP tires for only $60/tire. They ranked higher than the S.Drives and were cheaper so I thought I would give them a try. I'll be comparing them to my old Yokohama AVS ES100's.
i also have 2255016 on stockies. 1.5 in drop and no rubbing.
i dont have any good sideshots or else id post a pic.
Using the miata calculator, a 215/55/15 tire would be better specced (0.2% slow instead of 1.4% too fast)
It'd also be wider... which is a plus? But I'm confused, does cornering speed improve with wider tires, or just straight line acceleration?
Also, it would hurt gas mileage? Likely insignificant to worry about.
But the biggest question is, will they fit stock wheels hahaha.
lol why don't you buy some and find out if they fit the stock 15's. I think those tires are a bit wide though. I've seen a lot of people run 205's on stockies but not 215's.
yeah... makes sense. cos tires are $$$. haha.
funny side note: my friend just blindly bought 195/50/15 for his impreza without thinking. he wanted better "performance" from lower profile tires
better 0-60/quarter-mi time alright, considering his speedo will be 6% faster than what he's actually moving at.
there goes 4 bills out the window, cos i have no idea what kinda cars take 195/50/15....
i hve a 1.5 drop right now and im runnin 205/55/15...no rubbing...i think when u start going into the 225/55/16 is when u might rub
