i think the v2 is crap. everybody with a car has the aem now so their sales are not shooting through the roofs anymore. how can you sell more if it seems like your sales have peaked? make a new one that looks groovy and say it kicks the old one's ass.

this is my attempt at telling myself not to buy the v2 if it comes out for our car. :D

and yeah i think the current AEM fits just barely and this new v2 would have to be a little different, like the injen race.

Injen CAI did have a better gain in horsepower, 8. Torque was only 2. AEM CAI was 4.5 HP and 5.4 torque. I bought the AEM cause the Injen failed emissions and the installation makes you relocate the fuse box (big no-no).

Injen passed emissions and what's wrong with relocating the fuse box?

AEM CAI all the way, just because it's the name that you can trust. When you think of the best, you think of AEM. Relocating the fuse box sounds like a pain. That's time I could spend driving.

I just ordered an injen CAI from nopi online. Why? I've heard more people raving on here over the injen rather than the AEM, and I like that the dyno results most of its power in the higher RPMs as opposed to the lower RPM power of the AEM. I was also tired of waiting for the Icebox to come out, and I've gotten over my fear of hydrolock while driving in the rain. Its just not going to happen unless the thing goes underwater, and I'm on the gas.

I can't wait to get it... its my first 'real' mod. It should be here mid-next week. :D

Injen all the way... the specs say enough... and though relocating of the fuse box is no big deal... it really only shifts it... and they give you the bracket... I've always been a fan of aem but they're numbers compared to the injen didn't impress me.

Yes , I know CAI's make more HP than SRI's. But what about the HKS Short Ram. Not alot of shops carry it , much less Have it.Its the best SRI I, ( and my friends highly agree) , have ever tried. My friend with the injen'd 2002 Si liked my HKS better.

Anyway, its just a thought. :D

This is what a dealer does when you ask them to repair under warranty a problem you caused...

I'm surprised that no one has said Comptech Icebox.

Comptech Icebox will not hydrolock if you are worried about that. Better for my supercharger application b/c sc's like short ram style.

I've heard many horror stories involving the AEM.
    1. The tube goes down a hole in my EM; and the tube would rub against the edge of the hole. Eventually it would rub a hole in the tube and metal shavings would end up in the engine.

    2. The spring on the by-pass valve would come off and be sucked into the engine.

I don't want to bad mouth AEM, but these stories can be found on clubsi.com I am not sure if AEM has corrected this problems or not.
