Wow. Somebody figure out what the difference between the two synchro types is -- I bet one is double cone and one is triple. Quick, somebody call a honda master tech and clear this up!

BTW, the first price is what you pay, the 2nd price is what you 'save' over retail. This is from www.slhondaparts.com.

Why is this a sticky? These part numbers are worthless without reference to a specific model. Yeah, they're in the Honda catalog but what do they fit?

search the part numbers to find the answers you must.

does it not tell you when you search the numbers?

    23626-pns-305 Sleeve Set 5-6
    23521-pps-305 Sleeve Set 1-2
    (1st revision)

    1-2 - 23521-PPP-305
    3-4 - 23623-PNS-316
    5-6 - 23626-PNS-315
    (2nd revision)?

    Jdm Dc5r.

There have been two revisions to the (3-4) synchro mechanism to handle shifting into 3rd and 4th gears since the original 2001 DC5R was released. The first revised mechanism according to the Honda parts manual came in all DC5Rs from September 2003 until the runout of the model in mid 2004. Basically, if you have a late 2003 or 2004 Integra Type R, you have at least the first revision in your gearbox. The second revision came with the updated JDM DC5R that came out in Japan in Sptember 2004 and I image (haven't checked yet) the 2005 onwards Australian Integra Type S.

The new Japanese Civic Type R (FD2R) has the exact same part number as the second revison mentioned above. Seems like Honda might be happy with the synchro now.

Yes, I did my 3-4 synchro in my 2001 JDM DC5R. Just couldn't shift fast from 2nd to 3rd gear, and then after awhile, couldn't engage 3rd at all. I have pulled the box apart and over the next few weeks, I'll be fitting the latest revision of the synchro mechanisim (already arrived from Japan) to the gearbox. I hope to post a few photos of the damaged synchro (very hard to see the slight wear) and hopefully be able to show the difference between the original synchro mechanism and the latest revision. There may be more here than meets the eye. I measured up the shift fork. The fork appears to have no wear on it at all, but it was outside the serviceable limit as specified by the workshop manual. I have a brand new fork as well and I'll try to get back to this forum with a detailed report on why the original synchro may have failed and what Honda has done about it.

    Yeah.

Then when you go to that year and model in the catalog the part numbers are there. Whats the deal with "unlisted" numbers.
