you most likely did it on the wrong wire because the clutch safety mechanism still works after the loop has been cut.

Do ya'll guys still have cruise control? because I know that there is a clutch sensor for cruise control.

haha i was thinking about doing this until i read that you should remember to leave it out of gear when parking. problem for me is that i always leave it in first when i park. oh well. nice DIY anyway.

wow i never thought of that! But you have to push the pedal in all the way to start the car, and if u barely push it in with the cruise on, it goes off, so im guessing different sensors??

i by-passed my clutch with a thin wire and i crimped 2 terminals on either side. i pulled the sensor thing out and slipped the terminal in each connection. i dont have to press the clutch to start and i still have cruise control.

Yes there are two2 sensors on the clutch:

    1) clutch has pressure on it (cruise control, shutoff)
    2) clutch is fully depressed (starter switch)

Using the second sensor, unplug the harness and put a paper clip in both ends of the connector. Or install a switch somewhere.

*This is also how to make a remote start system work in a manual car. Just don't leave it in gear...

Will do, but I'm just wondering, last week I was on the Highway on cruise control and I put the car on neutral without pressing the clutch and the engine rev'ed to past 6k before i pressed the brake pedal to stop the cruise control... is that normal?

OMG! dont cut the wires.... merely take a 2 inch piece of wire, strip both ends, jump across back of switch. To un-do it, merely pull the jumper out.

    Thats how I did it.

    Didn't on mine.

Just DONT cut the wires. Use a 2 inch jumper and jump the switch from the back.
