I had one and three and three is way better IMO
There have been several instances of the ghetto catch can mod.
All of these require mounting inline between the PCV and IM with hose clamps.
---------------------
Ver. 1
Fram fuel filter
Part # G2 is 5/16” and G3 is 3/8”
Cost: $3
Available from: Auto Parts store
The unfortunate problem with this fuel filter is that it has to be mounted horizontally to be effective thus limiting its effective life of catching enough of the blowby gases.
---------------------
Ver. 2
Purolator fuel filter
Part # F40163
Cost: $3
Available from: Auto Parts store
This filter solves the horizontal mount issue and does a fair job but the input and output lines are only 5/16". I have not had a significant problem though.
Below is my setup.
---------------------
Ver. 3
Husky Air compressor filter
Part # HDA70400AV
Cost: $12 (plus fittings)
Available from: Home Depot

I had tried the first and second version and the main issue is that they are not constructed to endure a vacuum and they soon collapse. The only one I would recommend is the last version with some brass fittings like this

They work well, when i had my jrsc it really helped out
Ive used versions 2 and 3. 2 did a so-so job of collecting oil but didnt hold up for long. I'm currently using version 3 and it does an excellent job of collecting the blow-by oil. Had it on for more than 30K miles and its still doing the job.
so is this basically how it hooks up?
also what size is the tubbing, any product numbers for those and the fittings, so if i try this i dont look like the newb i am @ the home depot
Just wondering what does this mod do in helping the engine?
Ok kind of thought that. Maybe I am just thinking way to old on my cars like what I have form the 60's and 70's but I heard a little oil was not a bad thing so the OLD PCV valve setup were good for the motors.
