No, you're right. The only real thought is that oil condensating in the intake manifold and valves could cause some residue build up affecting performance. In an N/A engine, it is not that bad. In a supercharged (JRSC) engine, the PCV input is located before the SC. That causes the oil and mess to build up on the inside of the supercharger assembly reducing the effectiveness of the unit to push air.
That's the theory anyway. If you keep your crankcase oil clean with proper oil change intervals, the oil that blows in is not THAT bad.
Basically, I don't want crap gunking up my SC so that's why I do it.

Lastly, the size of the tubing is 3/8"

Not really, I don't think. My advice is to go the Husky filter way. Cheapest in the long run and you keep oil out of your intake. Better safe than sorry.

    just bc im a handi-tard

    you want the husky filter

those 2 brass fittings (can they be found at home depot as well?) and then mount it somewhere over near the battery and run the tubbing (3/8") to there and connect it how my picture shows? What kind of hose, just that black heater/generic hose? Andddd i think thats it

any part numbers for teh fittings on the husky thing?

No part numbers, but the fittings were right there in the same section as the filters at HomeDepot.

You can just see where I mounted mine, up under the edge of the headlight support and used some Zip-Ties to secure it. I used two 90 degree fittings to connect the vacuum lines to.
