No, you're right. The only real thought is that oil condensating in the intake manifold and valves could cause some residue build up affecting performance. In an N/A engine, it is not that bad. In a supercharged (JRSC) engine, the PCV input is located before the SC. That causes the oil and mess to build up on the inside of the supercharger assembly reducing the effectiveness of the unit to push air.
That's the theory anyway. If you keep your crankcase oil clean with proper oil change intervals, the oil that blows in is not THAT bad.
Basically, I don't want crap gunking up my SC so that's why I do it.
Lastly, the size of the tubing is 3/8"
