    high compression K24

Less then a week left before I pick her back up from the shop. The EP is getting a K24 with:
    12.5 CP's
    IB Rods
    Balanced and polished Crank

All the supporting mods are the same as before:

    CAI
    bdl 70 tb
    RBC
    BCRH
    75mm ex
    Kpro

Head has skunk2 stage 2 cams
    all required valvetrain and more

Last note, as the motor was being timed we realized that the tensioner was done for. I love the guys at skunk2, some of the best people to deal with, but if I can't resolve this issue...IPS? lol hope not for wallet's sake!!

I would NEVER risk the health of a brand new build such as the one you have, to a set of cams that are proven to destroy engines. I would use a set of OEM cams untill you can get something other than the Skunk2's.

I'm gonna agree.... Skunk2 cams blow up setups. Atleast go brian crower. Those I'm in love with. Altho you miiiiite be ok with the 2. Stage 3 will blow ur motor in a month.

How big is 75mm in inches? Go Kon! I have to agree with the guys about skunk2...:der: I don't have their problem with them but if you are going all out on a build then go all out on some cams too.

75mm ~ 2.95in. I can't speak from experience, but I would tend to a agree with these folks and drop the Skunk2's for a while.

nah...maybe 260...I'm trying though. I'm looking at investing in some IPS K2's, either that or BP's. I appreciate the positive feedback though guys!!!

The closer to 300 you get the more you are going to need a 3inch exhaust for optimum power.

When you hit around 240-250 a 2.5" exhaust will start holding you back. 250-290 will see decent flow with a 2.75" or 70mm. But remember these are just basic guidelines. If you are only concerned with topend power then go with the largest dia. pipe you can install(and that your ears can stand). If your car is a DD, then 2.5"-2.75" should be as large as you go, otherwise throttle response and low/mid range power will suffer greatly.

Aint that the truth. 70mm is too large for my liking as it is. I was running the full 70mm skunk2 ex but couldn't handle the droning at low rpm's so I threw on the old WSII axleback...nice and quite (restrictive, but quite). I would rather loose a few hp then go deaf and rack up hundreds of $ in exhaust tickets.
