do you have any close up pics of the bracket areas?

thanks for the hook up. just finished mine. the strut comes from a honda passport 99-02. bought strut at autozone ($19.99). does not come with bracket or ball stud, but picked them up at salvage yard.

My SACHS strut from Pep Boys didnt come with the bracket, so mine is a custom piece from CFR plastic. My hood popped up a bit too... until i swapped the stock hood bolts with button head allen bolts to lower the bolt head profile. In my case, the bolt head was hitting the strut body when closed... forcing the hood up in the corner. Watch for the ABS lines too. My strut came really close to them.

just wanted to bump this to the top

i wanted to confirm that the sachs strut, (part no SG326011) is the correct piece needed to install on our cars; it can be found at Pep Boys the bracket that came with mine was rather thick, so you will need a longer bolt to fasten it to your hood. the ball stud needed for the pivot on the headlight support can be found through mcmaster carr, part number 8412k11. it comes with the ball socket that the ball stud would pivot on, so to remove it requires either a bit of brute force with a set of pliers to separate them, or a small set of snap ring pliers (guess which way i went ) the ball stud threads right in next to the rubber damper on the passenger side if i had a camera id take pictures, but i dont hope this helps for anyone thats curious though

    that works for me

i did this mod out of necessity--that hood prop gets in the way of other more important things i remembered sometime ago someone did this mod before, but there was no definitive answer to what parts were necessary. i figured i do my best to try and fill in the gaps

tried a new link--did that fix it?

2004ep3hatch has some additional pictures of the ball stud, but those can be identified off the online mcmaster carr catalog
