    Hytech A2 oil pan baffle

When I added the Z3 head to the A2 shortblock, I went ahead and added Hytechs oil pan baffle.

It goes in rather easily. You dont need to have it welded in. Just follow the directions and drill holes to use the included screws and nuts along with some UltraFlangeII sealant. They have never leaked on me at all!

Here is a pic showing how the oil pump sits in the pan baffle.

Sweet sauce, looks expensive though. Looks like it has hinges on those little doors.

The reason for this modification is to maintain a supply of oil to the oilpump pickup in VERY tight turns.

Doug kinda covered this but it keeps the oil from sloshing around and keeps it where it needs to be to get picked up by your oil pump...specifically during tight hard turns.

I almost would have been tempted to tack it in place instead of bolting that fucker in...I don't like putting holes in my oil pan.lol.

    ?

Are you referring to my going with a RBC oil pump on the K24 build? if so, I am going to "make" one for the Z3 pan and pump. They are constructed of nothing more than simple sheet aluminum and hinges available at any aviation supply. I will follow the basic Hytech design and make templates out of poster board first. I just have to find a aluminum cutting blade for the band saw this weekend.

I have never had any leak from those screws. And if there was any possible chance of leaking, then the RP oil I used would have found it's way out!
