    transmission swap

    I am wondering if anyone here has done a k20z3 transmission swap with there ep3,s 5spd, pos and cons of the swap and what is needed to perform this swap I:E diffrent mounts brackets that need to be made ect... I already have kpro so that wont be an issue,I just wanted to get everyones opinion. thanks in advance.

    It is a fairly large PITA I can tell you that...as far as specifics I am not sure. I know you have to do some sort of rewiring for a few things...fairly extensive from what I hear.

    2 problems
    1) the speed sensor is different....there is a decoder called daycota digital...or something like that that has a fix....its over on k20.org.
    2) the shift arm that comes out of the trans is backward for out car...you can take the ep3 shift arm and cover plate off and bolt it on to the trans( with some drilled and tapped holes...or so I have read.

    great thats exactly the kind of negative feedback I want to hear,right now I am kinda stuck in the middle of getting this tranny or buying an lsd for my 5 speed, the car is turbo so I kinda wanted to keep the 5.

    Just add a LSD and TSX 6th gear to your 5speed.

    LSD your 5-speed. Also changing the FD will do wonders. Really depends on where you are trapping and where you want your shift points at.
