    Tnhatch03's Boost Build

    More pictures on Page 3.

    This is going to be the "2nd Edition" since the last one got deleted. This is going to be a SLOWWW build for me. I will try and keep things updated as much as possible. But without further ado, let me tell you the plans as of now. I am pretty solid about the bottom end plans.

    K20A2 Bottom End
    Benson Sleeves
    - 87mm
    - Open Deck
    ACL Bearings (added 2/3)
    Golden Eagle Oil Squirter Plugs (added 2/3)
    Balance/Micropolish Crank
    9.0:1 JE Pistons or CP
    Eagle H-Beam Rods


    I have not decided what I want to do with the head as of now. I will figure that out when I get there.

    I am pretty sure I am going to get a Sidewinder Manifold, Larger Turbo, External Wastegate, Dumptube, Injectors. Again, I have not planned out that far.

    What good is a build thread without pictures? I do not know either, but here are some.

    Here is my trusty manual, that has helped me most of the way.


    I got a really good deal out of the block. It was TOO good to pass up.



    Of course, I could not have got this for a great deal without some type of issue. Piston to valve contact = :boom:



    So... I purchased an Engine Stand from Harbor Freight and mounted the engine on the stand and got to work. Slowly, hahaha.


    Crank was in pretty good shape.




    I took out the crank and set it aside.





    The crank on its way to get shipped to LaskeyRacing to get some work done.


    I finally got a chance to pull out the Pistons/Rods and see how the rods looked. The rods are still in great shape.

    This is how the motor sits as of now. Going to be shipping out the block as soon as I get a chance.


    The Oil Squirters will be removed during sleeving.

    I am wanting to do all the work myself. Tearing the block apart is a sinch. I am worried about putting it together. I may end up buying all the pieces and taking the bearings/pistons/rods/block/crank and having a shop install them.

    i would for sure clean up that nasty cylinder one exhaust port.
    that looks like he had some serious fuel issues.

    Get yourself the helms manual. Quadtruple check clearances and you should be fine! Good luck

    i was curious. does the TYPE-R block say PNC to? the stamp has K20A, but there is PNC on it to. my type-s has PNC stamped on it.
