def. get the 6spd unless u plan to boost it. u WILL fall out of vtec after every shift.
Should I just fork out the extra money for the 6 speed?
What are the pros and cons of using a 5 speed with an a2 swap?

i love having my 6spd for highway driving. 80mph = 3600rpms....not 4k lol...400 rpms makes a def. difference in noise level
hell yea it is. im def. gonna appreciate that 400rpms once my buddy club pro-spec catback goes on and meets my bcrh lol she's gonna be a loud one lol
I know we have always said this but based on running transmission calcs and an 8800 redline in kpro for the A2, here are the RPM and speeds for the A3 transmission:
1st - 44mph @ redline
2nd - 5097rpm @ 44mph, 77mph @ redline
3rd - 6092rpm @ 77mph, 112mph @ redline
4th - 6690rpm @ 112mph, 147mph @ redline
5th - 7048rpm @ 147mph, 184mph @ redline
Based upon the torque curve crossover for the high speed and low speed cams, if you ended up with having a lower boundary of 4500 rpm or so, you should be fine and I don't think that is too unheard of. Any thoughts? Sam?
As for lowering the RPMs on the highway, adding an RSX-S 4.4 final drive drops you down to what a 6 speed has anyway. Of course I am boosted so my view is slightly skewed.
How to properly use Apostrophes
The rev limiter is not meant to be used as a shift light
yea he bought one. I got him the hook up LOL
Get the 6 speed and sell me your tranny
to tack onto what jimmyjames is saying, alot of boosted k20a2 cars that i have seen have there vtec boundary dropped to 4500-5000rpm range. i have seen a few cars tuned like this with k-pro. i do not know the reason why per say. i am assuming to try and bring the power band more towards the middle. but if that is the case then you should be fine with a 5 speed. but it is nice to have it a little quieter when crusing at 80mph. 4k rpm seems to be the sound barrier in our car with a race header and exhaust...lol
if you look hard enough, there are people that will swap ur 5spd for there 6spd, straight up!
