I would check to see if the ipod touch is compatible, I am not 100% sure if it is, you may want to do some research before you buy because I thought that I read somewhere that the new nano, ipod touch, and iphone were not compatiblem but like I said, I am not 100% sure, I would hate for you to buy this and not be able to use it.

I think they're pretty much all the same as far as functionality goes, so support our vendors or buy whatever is in stock at the best price.

Mine was a Peripheral Electronics unit and here's a pic of my old one:

Ok I am a bit confused. what do you mean it it only allows you up to six play lists. you can't just control by going through Music > Artist> and pick what ever song you want to play like you would if you were just listening to it through you headphones?

There's two modes of control. Playlist mode is where you can only control six playlists. Direct mode is where you control it just as you described, through the ipod itself. You have to choose one mode or the other.

No. For the USAspec adapter (I don't know how the others work) there is a little physical switch on the adapter box that you can toggle from playlist to direct. So when you do choose (and I strongly recommend direct), you have to be pretty sure because you're not going to be mounting the adapter box where you have regular access to it.

What I did is set it to direct mode, than drill a hole in the side of the pocket that sits underneath the head unit. The wire goes through that and the ipod sits in that pocket, so I can changes songs, etc... easily. If you choose direct mode, you'll want to have regular access to the ipod. Playlist mode is more like if you want to have it in the glove box.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested getting an aftermarket head unit yet. Have you considered that?

I actually have an after market head unit. I just want to go back to stock because I feel more comfortable about it. I don't want somebody to break the window of my car, taking the radio, taking my ipod and replacing everything that was ruined.
