I am running 215 i the front and 225 in the back 45/17. I just got them installed so I dont know yet if it really will make a big difference.

I think you should be fine. after all it isnt that big of a difference.

    ONly for the dragstrip...

Bigger always in the back for braking control. bigger tires in front= more brake power and the front already has more power so the back end will become unstable. Same thing happens in any car with bald rear tires *.

*"I found this out the hard way in the rain 3 yrs ago on a went hwy underpass....

check out the guys thread in the auto x section.

    fico,
thats what i want to and i would normally say wider is better, but out of the two choices the op gave, the 205 is better. good luck finding tires in 215/50/15, thats an odd ass size.

In auto-x, we want more front grip and more rear rotation. A good autocross setup is not good for the street, mainly when the driver isn't used to handling such a car in emergency situations.

For the street, I'd go with the same size all around, and never let either pair get bald. In other words, if you still rotate your tires, put the new ones in back, throw out the old fronts, and move the old rear tires to the front -- that way you have the best traction in back to prevent spinning.

i was using the one guys thread where he had 275 up fron as an extreme example of a staggered setup, i wouldnt suggest that to anyone on the street.

Go with the same size all the way around. Larger tires in the rear of car is for RWD, not FWD, hence the Mustang comment.

not to get off subject, but aren't 205/50/15s to small? I'm buying new tires and I was told that 205/55/15 is as small as you should go on stockies, since the speedo will be quite a bit off. around 6% i believe, but if the car isn't a DD i guess that doesn't matter
