    k20a2 on k20a3 rpm question...

    possibly wrong area..but i didn't see a transmission section.

im tired of my engine being at 3500 rpm down the highway.

was thinking of putting in a k20a2 tranny for the 6th gear.

is the 6th for the a2 tranny the same ratio as the 5th in the ep3?

i cant find out FOR SURE info...

and, anyone with an a2 tranny in their ep3 already, doing 100km/hr-ish (60mph), what is your avg rpm?

    thanks in advance guys!

yes the 6th gear and 5th gear are the same.
however the final drive on the a2 tranny is 4.389 vs the a3's 4.764
this would bring down your RPM's a little.

It will drop around 300RPMs, so you'll be around 3700 instead of 4k-ish at 80mph.

I personally don't mind the few extra hundred revs. It just means I won't have to downshift to pass a semi on the highway.

    Larger Wheels?

Look good, last longer (More rubber per revolution), easy install, higher top speed, keeps it in warrenty longer, probably cheaper.

Speedo off, lose some pull especially going slow, maybe worse on gas.
