Question about UK type R seat covers: Are they the same as our Si seats? Other than the Type R on the front seats, the fronts look the same but I noticed a square patch on one seat that had some material missing that the si seats don't have. What is the missing material for? Are the back seats the same?

30ae recaro covers will not fit usdm seats sorry. Also, the regular type r seats vary slighly. Instead of having the push release at the back of the seat like USDM its on the side of the seat by the outer shoulder

I wasn't taking into account anything like side airbags.
The push release is avoidable because its only on the drivers seat in the UK.
just get two passenger seat covers.
the covers will fit, there is nothing different about the bolsters or anything as far as the seats size. BaLisTek is just crazy.
There is NOTHING stopping you from putting the seat covers on your seats.
welp if thats true you learn something everyday.. but how could the AE seats covers fit on USDM seats? They could fit on Recaro Sport Seats. It can get as simple as AE seats have 2 holes while the usdm seats has 1 hole at the top of the seat.
Non-AE seats can fit the usdm seats now ... using passenger seat covers like you said

if they did, then you are indeed correct, you cant use THOSE seats.
but you can use the ones that have the triangle hole that are red and black that say recaro on them, or the ones exactly as i described that say Type R.
I didn't get recaros I am putting red in the middle and want to make sure the back seats are a direct fit before I cut them apart to put the red in and then find out later they don't fit!!!

UK Type R seats:
02-03=similar to usdm, grey and black with the type r text
04-05=like 02-03 but with red centers
30ae=all red recaros.
Premier edition=black and red recaros.
