Sticky and bump

I am going to sound very stupid here but that is ok no one really knows me on here. What do these terms actually mean.

sticky means its always at the top of a forum so it dose not get lost. example being rules of the forum. Bump means well to bump your post up top again. like in classifieds. you post and after a day or 2 its all the way down or on page 2, you go on and say bump and its back at the top to be read.

I will move this in member introduction and sites questions and close this so we dont get a 100 responses on what a bump is. So now you know
