What is a good quality brand HID?

I plan on keeping my stock headlight housings.

I do not plan on modifying ro retro fitting another lens.

I have no problems with wiring.

What is the best HID I can get for my car?

I don't want any cheap crap that will catch on fire or last only 3 months.

    Input please.

well i live in CA and i just bought these ONEX HID kit 8k for 120. they are nice. i had McCulloch 6k's i think they were but those were around 3 bills. the mcculloch have are a better quality light. i had to go with the 8k on the onex because the 6k on the onex looks like sh*!. the 8k, well im gonna pick it up in an hour.

wont that be extremely blinding for other drivers? i thought i remember seeing some threads where they talked about using the normal reflection housings meant for halogens instead of projection headlights.... i think they were saying its way to bright to other drivers... i dont know though, probably wrong.

It depends on the quality of the kit really.

While the glare shields from stock headlight housing are better suited for Halogen and Incandescent bulbs, they can function with HIDs. Quality kits have glare shields built into the bulbs themselves.

All plug-n-play kits are a cheap way out IMO. Glare shields and stuff work to an extent, but the right way to do it is a retrofit/buy headlights meant for it. I'm sort of preaching to the choir here since I'm using CTR HID reflectors and have the nasty RHD flare, but that's just my .02

I have eagle eye hi low kit that my buddy sells. I am not retrofitted and have had my hid's for 2 months not one flash from other drivers they work in the oem housings just fine. I used to think the same way about hid. They must go into a projector. I have seen it done both ways and they both have their good and bad. I have a crap load of reach to the sides like projectors and a very minimal hot spots. I should shoot some pics. The kit I am using is a relay kit the runs off the battery and a secondary wire that activates a solenoid in the bulb simulating a high beam by moving the actual bulb. It may sound like it does not work, but it works surprisingly well.

been trying to build a car up on a budget and ive been looking into some HID kits too. been looking on EBAy and see alot of cheap hid kits and im getting tempted. but then again, xenithxeons are in irvine ca, and its right by were i work so i might shell out an extra 50$ for a "quality" kit.. but then again, i dont know what "quality hid" are.
