They aren't side specific. They are built that way cause if you look at both of the sets that I did they flare a little on the edges. Their cutoff is supposed to be flat but the little shields leak light on the edges.
Well, I'm also finding that some of the ebay ones may be different, not doubting you though. For example the cups that affix the lamps on the back of mione are plastic. In other tutorials I have seen they are metal. In the beemer forums I have found a trend of the plastic cupped ones having the flare complaint whereas the ones with the metal blub rear cup flat as a board.
I really just need to get in and check them out, been a hell week and I'm pretty much shot this weekend :(

H3 first then if I dislike it H3C, H3C kits are outrageous so it's easier for me to do the cheap kit and if I don't like it buy H3C lamps.
I took a quick eyeball measurement last night and the arc capsule is close to that of the positioning of the filament int he H3 lamp... I'll get a more accurate measurement tonight... the only time I've been home lately is to sleep.

i think i may go H3 too...the cost of the h3c is outragous! it'll be worth a little fabing/modding to get the h3 in there.

Busted to shit ankle or not I'm digging into this flare issue this weekend girls. I'm starting to see the light (punn intended) when moogen said the shield is off, which could REALLY suck given that they probably are NOT coming apart :(
So it's microsurgery time :D Or bust out another 60 bucks for moar projectors. which IF I have to go that route I'll have another set of plastic housings in case someone fawks one up.
