offset ques?

hi i have a question about offset.
does the higher the number mean the wheels will stick out or in of the arches?
eg. im after a set of wheels that are 7.5 wide with et40 will they rub on the back arches on a lowered car?

they shouldn't rub and to help u out. here is what i did on my setup. i am runnin 2000-2003 s2000 wheels with a stock offset of +52. that was retarded for our cars. so i bought 25mm wheel spacers and put them on. it brought the offset to +27... (52-25=27) so now my offset is +27 and the wheels now sit flush with the fenders (before, they were sunken way in). i did have some rubbing so i had to roll the inner lip of my fender up. so the lower the number, the further it will stick out. +0 is crazy lol. just look up the member SUPREME and see his shit. i think he is running +0 or something like that.....

yeah supreme's got a +0 offset, crazyazz lol... I think we need to make a sticky about offsets in this area if we havent already.

those will not rub... the higher the offset, the further the wheels are inside the fenders, the lower, the more they stick out...

we used to have a sticky that explained wheel offsets and we had a thread where people posted there wheel and tire setups so people could view what works and what doesnt
