Need Help with scuffed OEM rim....

    Hello,

Having a sixteen year old daughter who is beginning to drive can cause havoc in ones life....... My wife took my daughter out in her 07 CRV and began to teach her parallel parking. Well when they got home I asked how things went? My daughter said "fine" and my wife said go look at my car! How can I remove these scratches on her rims? I do not wish to paint them black or anything radical like buy new rims. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

And they wonder why she doesn't get to drive the ep yet?

you could buy 1 new wheel from a junkyard probly pretty cheap.
Although their is a form of bondo type stuff for wheels
you could probably use regular bondo and sand and spray it silver

Honestly try sanding it out and get some paint to match. I don't think you can make it perfect that way, but I'll bet you can get it damn close.

I would do this that way...sand it out, remove rest of scuffs with some aluminium epoxy, organize some matching paint and repaint that....

The other possibility as v1c10us said...go to junkyard....

or let them as they are...

I guess I should have stated that she got both right side rims.....what grit paper should I use 220? higher? I'll call Honda tomorrow and see if they have a matching color paint.
    Thanks everyone

220 sounds about right to start with and once you have most of the damage cleaned up smooth it down with finer grit and so on. It won't work out perfect but I'll bet it will be pretty good.

Ah didn't know if they were painted to match or not. Think that's just for the body. E-mail them, they might be able to hook you up.

A bit of bondo and repainting should do the trick. A lot of body shops will do this for you relatively cheaply (like $20 per wheel).

If you can go without the car for a couple of days they will powercoat them really cheap. I've only heard great things about that place. I know its more than you were asking but it would be like getting brand new rims that would have a tougher finish.

Not tough enough to stop a teenage driver... but still.
