hey guys, my current winter beater (91, si) is getting a little old and I want to upgrade. I deal with allot of snow and would like a car with awd, and a 5 spd. Any suggestions? I was thining of an older subaru WRX. and input wuld help. Thanks guys. Also milage is important.

i own a subaru sti n i bought a ep last week for a DD... lol... gas is no joke these days!!... subaru is a great choice... mileage is about 18/24... lots of power!!... ive owned 3 of them already...

I'm in the same market as u. I am thinking i an gonna go with a Rav4. I don't need anything sporty for winter time and the extra ride height and the AWD would be good for the days when we get a good dumping of snow.

rav4's are awsome cars my mom owns one.

I'm also interested in a beater.... but in every sense of the word. I'm looking at this beat down piece of crap for like 150 bucks.... it has like 170K on the thing... which for 150 bucks is a friggin steal. I see Civics with 170k selling for 3k and up!

The RS is definitely not underpowered. More power AND more torque than the EP. Can be had clean for ~8k.

2 door subies FTW!!! but in all honesty, just get a chep car with some snow tires.. the rav4 would be a good choice due to the height advantage... the temptation to lower and mod to subies would defeat the purpose of getting it as a beater...

You could get a SX4 for almost that price along with a nice warranty etc..
