    K24a1 & greddy

I've been seriously tossing around the idea of getting a k24a1 from papituyo. Question is how well will the EP3 Greddy turbo kit fit on it? Will there be any clearance issues since the motor is a tad bit taller?

I tried to fit mine on just to see if it would fit, I know clutch797 did it but it was a tight fit for me. The way the manifold sits the turbo off to the left made it a real trick to get it mounted. But it will go on.

Yeah, I remember there being posts about it being a tight fit. Worried about it knocking on something if it engine torques.

I wouldn't think so, it's just hard to squeeze in when your installing. It scratched up my fire wall pretty good getting it in and out. I do remember the oil return fitting needing to be modified so it wouldn't touch the fire wall. No biggie though, Papys engines are very nice, I can't recommend him enough. I'd go with the k24a2 if you can afford it and boost it later if you can. With a few mods to the a1 your almost at the same price as the k24a2. Like the a2 oiling system upgrade and an rbc I could have just got a k24a2.

Well, I'm definitely going to buy from papi once I go through with it. I already have the greddy turbo on my a3.

It's a bitch in a half to fit the turbo in. I found the best way to do it was to remove the vc and then mount it. I'm hammered drunk right now so ill get back with yall tomorrow. Later.nn

His turbo was also going down the tubes if I remember correctly too.

Thanks for the good words/vouches guys. Just doing my part.

I'll be waiting for your post tomorrow, cause I will be doing this very shortly. I already have a k24a1, just need to buy k-pro and the a2 oil pump n stuff to do the swap.

238 whp seem like a low number but that torque looks nice, just behind the whp. maybe your failing turbo was the result of a low number, i don't know.

The turbo going did not help my numbers but the tuner said it did not make much of a diffrence. He said the greddy kit on an a1 makes right around what i was making at 10psi. I could have made more but it would have been in the mid range and at high rpms it would keep falling. Keep your a1 pump, it's been proven that the a1 pump works great if you don't plan on reving past 7k. the extra psi at idle will help.

I didn't know that about the a1 pump, I've looked into the a2 pump cause it is said that it will provide more oil presurre at high RPM and beside that it gives like 5 to 9 wtq more. I don't plan on revving more than 7k, so i think the a1 pump will do its job. if that's the case, I think that the swap day is going to be very close, just need kpro!!!

anyways, then I'll expect to pull 230-240whp and 230-240wtq with the k24a1 and a greddy kit.

I made 258whp and 262ftlbstq on the a3 greddy at 10lbs. The k24a1 fit with the greddy but it was tight. I had to get the downpipe lengthened about 1 inch.
