The a4 is an accord/element engine and, yes, they are cheap.

Anywhere I've seen has the tsx (a2) at $2000+.

yeah I was thinking k24a4 get forged pistons and eagle H beam rods, arp everything, a2 head and there you have 8500 rpm potential in a 2.4 liter motor.

Fico is right. You just need to know people or keep on Parts hunting. I got my K24a1 Longblock for 800 with 28K Miles. A few days before that I was going to buy a K24a1 from this one fella for 1100. Thank god I didn't because SleepinEp lead me to the right source.

I'm failing to see how you swapped for 500 bucks...clutch/water port fittings/crv mount/coolant/oil/filter/pilot bushing/throw out bearing/new belt/gaskets. It can be done for very cheap if you cut a bunch of corners but I think the 500 is a bit unrealistic. I can see maybe getting a local a4 motor for maybe 400 which is a steal but then add in the other parts and I think it is a stretch.

clutch- i could have used stock but i went aftermarket, i was in need of a clutch anyway so i hardly factor this into the swap.

water port fittings- 10 bux maybe?

    crv mount- came on engine

    coolant-12 bux

    oil/filter-12 bux?

pilot bushing- already taken care of

throw out bearing- comes with clutch

new belt- 20 bux at autozone (only because i deleted a/c, my stock belt had 5k miles on it if that)

    gaskets-had them all

Well the stock clutch wont hold the extra tq very efficiently but you could use a crv clutch that would work great for cheap but thats another 100 bucks. How did you score a crv passenger mount on your engine if it didn't come out of a crv?lol. Also don't forget the 310cc injectors. I certainly agree that this swap can be done for pretty cheap.
