CTR projector headlights x TSX projectors with HID retrofit

i'm putting together my CTR x TSX retrofit for my 2004 ep3. i've been doing my homework to put in some OEM HIDs, but i want to know some things...

    what i have currently are:

    04-05 CTR Projector Headlights
    05 TSX Projectors
    OEM honda/acura ballasts
    OEM honda/acura ignitors

    1. What harness should I purchase from www.suvlights.com? I want to upgrade my harness so it can handle the HIDs.

    Here's a link for SUVlights.com
    http://www.suvlights.com/index.php?cPath=24_73

    2. Do I need this part # 33147-S2A-A11?

It's the top two wires in this pic:

    3. Where can I order the plastic piece that covers up the low-beam hole?

This pic is from Ocelaris' post on HIDplanet.com

I am noob when it comes to electrical ish...
thanks for any help you can provide.

Well i don't belive you need any harness. I have a 04 as well and my wires are just fine. You 9006 plugs should go into the ballasts. My ballasts have ignitors built in already so i have just the 9006 to them and from there to the bulb.

Please correct me if im wrong anybody.

The 02-03 models need a harness because or the wiring configuration.

That plastic pice you would need to get from overseas as i don't know anybody to buy from. Best bet is to make something yourself.

    thanks for the quick reply!
if anyone could clarify that i won't need a harness, that'd be great!

if i did want to upgrade my harness, i'd order the 9006 off SUVlights.com correct?
    http://www.suvlights.com/product_inf...roducts_id=112

i just read somewhere that the halogen harness wires can't handle the load the ballasts require...maybe someone can chime in on that.

BTW i love your TW matched fogs! +1 on originality.

the guy who made the DIY with DEPO replicas x TSX projs. and HIDs used the bottom of a yogurt cup to cover up the low beam hole, but i don't know if i could trust yoplait to protect my precious investment or to not melt...

if your running oem setup, 9006 bulbs will not work for you. The tsx projectors require you buy 4300k d2s type bulbs. As for harness, the answer is "yes" because the halogen wires will not provide enough initial amperage to jump start the ballast. When you first turn on your ballast it's going to require at least 75w while your stock wires are only really capable of 55w but as the burners(bulb) warms up then the amperage drops down to 35w. You won't notice much difference in the wirings but after awhile you will burn those stock wires or even worse start an engine bay fire! Good Luck you my friend are on the right track!

those two wires are the essentials to your ballast. It's how your gonna power your ballast. You might need to splice the end that doesn't connect to the ballast though.

yes because the harness your buying won't fit without mod.

if you dont cut out any of the plastic from the headlights, you can do what i did.. a bit ghetto but it works.

i bought 2 H1 rubber grommets from honda. i think the 06 crv's use it. There is a small hole probably about 1" in diameter in the middle of the grommet, so you would have to use something to cover it up.

anyways, i'll be looking into this and i appreciate the help 'n heads up!

I think the Acura TSX headlights use the same plastic endcaps

pretty embarrassing, but i used a clear plastic cap from a water bottle. It's been about a year and i haven't had any issues so far.

I believe this will work w/o any problems/modifications if you have hid projector headlights. On the other hand, if you have the halogen projector headlights, which I'm assuming he does because he is retrofitting it with tsx projectors, the hole will be smaller so you'll have to cut the plastic pieces in a way that the cap will twist into the lowbeam hole area. It may or may not be hard, I'm not sure.

I have stock HID projectors....I am thinking the cap would be a good idea to keep the moisture out. Anyone have the part # for the cap in the back?

edit, I just took at look at Oceanis' pic above. Looks like its configured differently vs mine??

Anyone here with stock JDM HID projector chime in with what I need to cover this badboy up after I plug in the HID wire from the ballast?

do you know if both ends have the same end connectors?

I checked how much they cost and they're pretty expensive for just wires and i would like to just cut just one ballast harness in half and splice it to the necessary power wires.

this retro is burning a big ass hole in my pocket and it seems like everyday there's something NEW that i have to purchase...
