DIY: Floating Hood?

How do you customize your hood to "float?"

I know they sell universal kits for alot of money but damn too pricey.
Is there a way to do it without an expensive kit or pricey labor?

Floating Hood - the hood is slightly lifted from the back but the front stays snug. This causes a slanted look.

you mean a popped hood? i got them, it rubs tho. our hood wasnt made for this imo, but still have them....btw i didnt use washers

i believe the proper term for them are "hood spacers".

passwordJDM has them, but you probably already knew that! =)

I've always called it "Vented.."
I vented the hood on my sr'd 240, and didnt see much of any change in general running temps..

same here but i think it goes with a longer hood such as a 240, s14.5
