I have to agree with EP3_U_SEE, it does make your car look broken, but that's because most people dont even know about this mod.

If you spend more the $3 on this mod your a dumb ass. Go to auto zone and get 4 spacers and 4 longer bolts.

This mod will help keep the engine bay cooler

I tried it the corners of the hood will scrape on your fenders every time you open or close your hood taking paint off both. If I used smaller spacers it might have cleared but you would have no gap and defeat the purpose of venting the hood.

So I recomend not doing this mod on the ep.

That's why EG's and EK's go after it... They already usually have seen 100,000+ miles and "broken" is what they look like already, lol. But that's not to say those cars off the lot didn't look something fierce. The EG, IMO, is the sexiest Civic ever built.

I've heard that this mod doesn't cause hardly any paint scrape issues with aftermarket hoods, but then again most AM hoods come with some kind of vent anyways...

Exactly! Joe(Jpax) has his FIT hood spaced like an inch + or so and it works well for the supercharger heat and looks sweet with the carbon hood all jacked up . he used some nice large spacers similar to to the other posted ones. I tried to use them and almost smashed my fenders also . the hinges are different styles(the way they pivot) is the reason I think it doesn't work on the ep. Sucked cause I would have done it quicklike, anything to cool it more.

    Nope, not just you.

Do you have overheating problems to begin with? If it's for looks then it just looks silly. I agree, it looks "broken."

Just the newest rice fad imho. If you have a huge turbo and need to vent heat that's one thing, but otherwise what's the point.

^ domestics have been using this for many years, its the entire idea behind a cowl hood, low to high air pressure areas at the front of the car

worked well getting rid of heat, the corsportusa ones work, but it still messes up the edge of the hood

blehhhh!!!! i hate the way those spaces look, makes you look like you've been in a wreck and didn't go to a decent body shop, i know it's supposed to vent heat better but i couldnt' stand looking at that esp if it was a daily driver. but to each his own i guess...
