I got a 04 rsx type s tranny from my friend with it stuck in second gear. he got a brand new one and just gave me is old one. everything else works.... like he drove it home in second gear that night it happened...

My question is .... what do you think is the problem and is it easily fixable?

any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

yes it's fixable. i had a problem similar to this a few weeks ago. i'm in the process of fixing it right now. you'll most likely need to replace the sleeve set for gears 1-2.

You will need a press and some specialized tools. You can do the basic work and have a machine shop actually press the new bearings and components on. Make sure to have a copy of the Helms manual and read all the threads you can find on internal transmission work, like LSD installs etc.

    thank for all the info.....

Do you think my friend that graduated UTI will be able to fix it without major problems... because he has a press and everything. he just only work on 2 trannies in his life....

so my question is: how hard is the work involved in it and on a scale of tranmission problem what does this rate?
