    JDM rebar dimensions???

I'm in the process of getting the full jdm type r kit, i understand that the front rebar i can order and works fine, but the rear doesn't work so well on our ep's. i have an 02 btw, but i'm looking for the exact dimensions of the square tubing i need to get, so i can get it made at a local shop when i'm home. the only thing i've been told so far is that is square tubing with 60 degree angled cuts on each end. i'm a total newb on this subject so any/all help would be great appreciated!

Take off your stock rear and measure it, it basically just needs to be a little more than an inch closer to the body of the car because the JDM bumpers are about that much shorter.

My custom rear re-bar sorta looks like a hollow aluminum 2x4... but a little bigger. MY car actually got backed into a few weeks ago and it wrecked my hatch but only scratched the bumper, so I guess it held up pretty good so far.

That was my old thread on the rebar mod/fab. Specs:

Material: 2x4 structural carbon steel, .063 or .083 wall thickness. (thicker better but heavier)

Size: 43 in. long, 60 deg. angle cuts on ends, match drill to factory rebar bolt pattern.

That one looks just like mine except mine is aluminum and may be wider, but it has holes so you can get a socket on the nuts still...

hey man congrats on the custom rebar and kit. I really really need to make a rebar for myself in the rear. You def need the jdm front rebar. JDM bumper cover wont fit over the usdm rebar
