    Lugs?

Hey, So I bought a used set of vault rims. They are 18's and chrome. I have no idea what model they are. I know the are universal Five lug. The fit right on my car. My question is Someone told me I would need different lugs or a spacer for them to work or the will strip my studs.

Anyone know if I need anything?

U need lugs that are made for aftermarket wheels. The width and offset of the wheels will determine if you need spacers or not.

look to the inside of the wheel and find out the off set and also the size of the rim most of the time i think we have 7 inch wheels if they are like +42 off set and 8 inchs wide i doubt they will fit w/o spacers. if you have spacers then you will need extended wheels studs and open ended lug nuts

So with any aftermarket wheels you need different lugs?

    Would advance sell them?

I already have the wheels on and they don't rub or anything.

Someone was telling me because these new wheels have a bigger hole for the studs because it's universal, That I need aftermarket lugs. Now what do aftermarket lugs do compared to stock one?

Also where can I get some?
What happens if I use my stock ones?
Also what lug size fits our cars?

Stock wheels/lugs have a "ball" seat, aftermarket wheels/lugs usually have a conical seat. If you mix the two, the lugs will not properly seat and it can cause problems. Get the right type for your wheels.

Someone might come here with the one case where this isn't true, but for the majority of the time aftermarket wheels use a conical/tapered seat lug nut and OEM wheels use a ball/radius seat lug nut.

You do know you can search for this type of information on your own right?
