    Aftermarket Clutch Master Cylinder????

    So i blew my 3rd cluch master yesterday in one year and im getting sick of working on my car in that area. I have a ACT street clutch with the heavy duty pressure plate, so i m guessing thats the reason why this is happening. The thing is, is that im not blowing the piston but only the seal thats on the plate which is the honda bond crap. I wanted to know if there was anythig aftermarket that was a little stonger or maybe even a little bit bigger so our stock ones wouldnt struggle so much. Or maybe if there was something i can use besides honda bond to reseal the stupid thing. Its only 3 little screws to take apart so it pretty simple.

    HOLY SHIT!!! WTF!?!? Can someone please tell me how you blow 3 in a year? Do you keep buying remanufactured ones or something? How do you figure these things are blown? You really shouldn't be going through that many. That's ridiculous....

    No they are all brand new Honda ones.. Dude i have no idea why they keep going out. I drive my car like a grandpa too . And its not the piston inside that goes out its the seal on that cover plate witht he 3 little star screws.

    I have one question, Does your clutch engage right next to the floor?

    If so I can tell you the steps needed to fix it so that the clutch engages at the middle of the clutch pedal stroke while keeping the CMC and slave happy campers.

    No not really but its pretty close. I would say its closer to the floor then it would be to the top (more like in between foolr and half way up) Just give me the steps anyways... Wouldnt that still have the same amount of pressure being pusshed through though?

    All you need is a .06$ washer. You need to drop the transmission and remove the pivot bal and add the washer. The ACT clutchs have a shorter installed height. This shorter height places the hydraulics at max adjustment, add in some wear, a aftermarket fly and the CMC over pressurizes.


    Another route to go that doesnt really fix the problem but one that just lasts longer than the stock CMC is the stockie from the 03+ civics IIRC.

    Oh wow i didnt realize how different the masters are between the 02-03 and 04-05 but i might just have to drop the tranny because im sick of fixing this shit lol. Thanks for the help man i really appreciate it.

    oh about the washer... any specific size or just something that fits on there (kinda just a standard washer)?

    That CMC isnt from the SI, but from a plain jane Civic EX.

    I used a washer that was just a tad over 1/16" thick.

    I have a FV400stage4 clutch from CM, (same basic pressure plate, both made by Exedy/Daikin). My CMC has over 250K miles with half of that with a stage3 or better clutch and it is still going strong.
