I tinted my sidemarkers and 'tested' my gunmetal idea

I tinted the side markers and painted my 'debadged' civic emblem. (I wanted to test the color before I painted my "H"'s.

I'll take some pics of them installed tomorrow as well as lit up.

    For the side markers:

    1. Clean them with Simple Green and dry them off well.
    2. Sand with 2000 grit wet sand paper (This gives the paint a better surface to adhere to).
    3. Place in a well ventilated area on a piece of card board or news paper
    4. I started with approx 3 coats. When I put the ambers down (After painting the reds) I added 2 more coats. I did 5 straight on the ambers (Approx).
    5. I let them dry (laquer can't be clear coated. At least, I couldn't find a clear coat for laquer.)

The badge was also cleaned and sanded. Then I put 2 or 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear.

that looks real nice. After you pull off the Civic badge, is it possible to pop it back in?

Nah, the civic badge isn't going back on. I had it laying around and wanted to test the paint job on there first. I guess you could try to reattach it, but it wouldn't look too hot IMO.

I'll be painting my "H" badges. The front one pops out and I'm buying a new rear one. I'll just remove the old one and paint the new one.

The Si's are coming off as well. Less is always more. ;)

Ok, here they all installed! (Sorry about the dirty ass car.)

The painted badge against the car for a color comparison.

Now, I just need to get a new rear "H" and remove the front one and I'll be all done. I'm also going to be removing my Injen intake and painting it as well.

tks for the pics Steve, took my civic badge off just recently and will next have to get at the sidemarkers. Nice work!:D

Edit: the civic badge has a silver hue to it, kinda cool as well.
