will 225/50r17 fit with a stock height ep3? again, NOT lowered
there are also some 235/45r17's as well, which are not as tall.
just bought a set of rims with 215/50r17's on them, tires are trashed so I can try them out (though I guess I could try slowly in my driveway to see if they rub and fit) and those are as tall as the 235/45's, just a half inch narrower.

they should. depends on the specs of the wheels.

reading the rims they are 17x7, 38 offset. from some reading I see that going wider than 215 would be amiss. I loosely mounted the wheels with 215/50r17 and they fit, filled the wheel wells nicely, though my brakes look really tiny in them, lol. any wider or taller than the 215/50r17 will definately rub.
I am thinking 215/45, 40 sidewall might be a touch small for a car that sees rough roads and dirt sometimes.

these really fill the rear well about perfect with no drop.

    215/45/17 should be perfect for a 17x7

    17x8+22front +32rear Wedsport Tc05's polished
225/45/17's at the moment but have mixed feelings of the tire size, really want to move to 235/40 front, 215/40 rear. idk!!!

    -Evo 8 rims (17x8 +38)
    -235/45/R17 Tires
    -Rolled rear fenders
    -Dropped ~1.25"

Will they rub in the rear?

I hope not as well, since my friend is willing to sell me his wheels.

If they do rub, I'll probably raise up my car instead of running stupid amount of camber :/

If no one knows, I might just drag my lazy ass to my friends house and try them on just to see.

looks like about 2 or 3 degrees of camber would be perf. not bad at all really.
