Looks great! This DIY just consist of removing the VC and painting. When removing the VC you just cover the valvetrain with a towl and reinstall? Also is the VC gasket reused or is that not a good idea?

Yeah when I took the valve cover off I layed some shop paper towels over the valve train and closed the hood. I didnt replace my gasket this time because I replaced it when I painted it yellow last year. If its still the original gasket I would replace it though.
Im gonna be painting mine yet again, I decided on wrinkle black and Ill be doing a breather setup aswell.

when you say do light coats, you talking about the blue coat or the black coat

Oh..ok lol. I was like whaaaa..! !...looks real clean though. Love the GM color. I used a wrinkle coat paint and properly it take about 2 to 3 hrs. do light coats which builds the wrinkle look....
