consistent knocking sound near driver side wheel when driving

while i'm driving, there's this consistent knocking sound coming from the driver side wheel. my friend said it could be the wheel hub if i went over a bad pothole or something. it happens throughout the whole time i'm driving, it may pause a few times but it knocks most of the time. and it's very rhythmic, it follows the speed i'm going.

anybody know what could be the problem? or is my information too vague?

I am going to guess the CV Joint/Boot... it could be the wheel hub. Jack up the car so the wheel making the noise is off the ground, Grab the wheel by 9 and 3 o'clock and see if you can move it back and forth.

While it's jacked up, try and spin each wheel too. (Brakes)
