I would personally go with 16's. Though it's very difficult to find a 215/50/16 tire. There are only a few options and none that I personally like. What's the drop on the Mugen SS?
I'm using the ep now as a DD and can't stand the 17s. What's your advice on tires for either 15 or 16. I need a comfortable ride and dont mind the 15s, but should I go 16s anyways? I have a mugen SS, what's the maximum tire i can fit a 16x7 w/o rubbing issues? (215/50?). Thanks.

I guess 205/50 on the 16s. Im hoping thats enough for a comfortable ride, or maybe 205/55. Mugen is 1.4 i believe.
The mugenSS provides 1.5" front and 2" in the rear after they settle for a month or so.

If you get 15 inch, go with 205/55 or 225/50. 205/50 are too small, they are for older civics.
If I was to get 16 inch I would go with 225/50, but if you do not like meaty look 225/45 can work too. Not sure if you can fit 225/50 tho, but 225/45 should be no problem.
Our cars are heavy so we need 225 at least.
225/50 on a 16, sounds good, although i wonder if i'll have rubbing issues. On a side note, does a 225/45 on 17 rub as well?
Um what? The car comes stock with a 205/55/16 for 04/05 and something even narrower on the 02-03.
Anyways try using the tire calculator (http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos#row1) and see what size the new tires will be. I'm about to run a 225/50/16 so I'll let you know if it rubs. Though my camber is slightly off.
What I meant is it is better to run 225+ mm on our cars because they come stock with too small of a tire.
Obviously, you can even run 185 tires if you want, that might improve your fuel economy due to decreased rolling resistance. But for performace-oriented crowd, 225 is min, I think.
Look at MKIV GTI VR6, they come with 225/45R17 stock.
Having said that I have 205/55R15 on my stock rims, because I am limited by my stock rim width (6 inch).
I am actually looking at 225/50R16.
What wheels/tires did you get? How much are you lowered? Let us know how they feel when you get them installed.
I have Mugen SS and roll with 205/50/15s (hand me downs from my brother). I can feel every bump and pothole. I would go with 205/55/15s or 205/50/16s.
205/50/16s on Mugen SS for reference -
thanks, im now leaning on a 15s just to get the most comfortable ride. On a 15x7, whats the most tire i can get w/o rollng the fenders?205/55 i guess?
I think you can probably go wider than that, though finding a 215 in the "right" series is pretty much impossible.
A lot of that will depend on the individual tire, though, too. I'd suggest just browsing around on Tire Rack and checking out some different options, then reading up on the specs. They measure actual section widths, which is nice. Tells you how wide that 225mm tire will actually be when it's mounted.
Also, the 1010 Tires Tire Calculator is the shiz...you can compare 4 diff sizes at once.
Which brings up one more question...what year EP are you driving?
i'm going to check that 1010tires.com, i usually just go to discount tire. I have an 03.
Go with the 16s. You will have just a comfortable ride as the 15s.

thanks.
