I run 225 45 17's and they do not bulge at all, you may need to trim the rear wheel well arch depending on your backspacing.
Buying my tires next week, pretty sure I'm going with a 225/45/17 to fit on my 17 x 7.5. Anyone think I should go with a 215? The 225 will fill out the wheel wells a bit better and give me more tire to the ground, just worried it will look "ballooned" when its all mounted up - anyone have any suggestions? Section width of the tire is 9"

i would go 225 just to be safe.
i'm on 235/40/17 on 17x7.5 +45 and its suuuuuuuuuper close to the suspension in the back.
i run 225's and i had to roll the back fender lips...
225 on a 7.5" rim is perfect. 215 will be a bit smaller. this is mainly for looks. personally I would go with 215 to avoid the extra work. I mean, how much more benefit would u get from 215 to 225?
The ride difference between 215 and 225 is rather noticeable from my experience.

I would go 225. That is what i run, it is close for me though since my offset and rim width are higher. I need to find a shop this summer that rolls fenders and get that done.
thanks for the replies guys, I'm dropped 1.5 at most so I think ill be ok
Or you could go staggered like I did 225s front 215s rear. No problems.
