    Question Center dash removal?

    Hey all,

I've got an '04 and the light for the vent selector knob (face, feet, defrost etcetera) has burned out. I have acquired the replacement lamps and figured out how to get the lower half of the silver center dash removed, but ran into a little hiccup for the top half. I found the two phillips screws at the bottom, but apparently there are two bolts higher up that I need to remove before the entire top section is free. Anybody know exactly where they are at and how to get to them? Photos would be awesome if anyone photo-documented a radio install. Even a photo of the back of a removed unit would be helpful.

    Thanks

I think you'll need a 90deg screw driver. It really is a pain in the butt to get to. GL.

Thanks for the link. It's the best info I've gotten yet but it is still not 100% clear to me.

When I do this, I'm going to take pics of EVERY step and make it clear EXACTLY how to do this removal and reinstallation (or how to break your dash, depending on how it goes).

Click here for video on how to remove EP stereo, courtesy JPAX. Hope this helps everyone!

Once, I used a combination of socket extensions on my 1/4" drive ratchet to get at the lower bracket screws from the sides (involves taking off more parts to get access). I've also used a stubby screw driver. Good luck; lookin' forward to the pics and DIY!

You can use an 8mm short socket on a 1/4" ratchet also.
