Yes, the tie rod end has a ball joint that lets the tapered "bolt" part move around somewhat. It should be covered by the grease-packed rubber boot.
Quick Question, on the outer tie rod end, the part that connects to your suspension, the bolt or w.e, is it supposed to be able to move around? or stay perfectly perpendicular?

okay cool. I seem to be having problems with my passenger side tierod. its making a creaking noise
then i guess the most sensible thing to do is to replace it.
i have a good ep3 one ill sell you, i only have one lol
i think i need to replace one as well. how hard are these to replace?
Easy if you have a pitman arm puller, like a 10$ tool or rent for free at auto zone
the tierods were just replaced 50 miles ago.
The tie rods, not the tie rod ends? they are a seperate part.
sorry let me specify, Outer Tie Rod Ends. I retightened everything also
it's not too hard to replace, but the problem is u'll need alignment after wards anyway, y not just let the ppl who does ur alignment install it for u?
