    wheel/tire fitment thread

there was a thread before the site took a dump about tire size rim offset people were running on their eps that i, and im sure other members, found useful.

irc, the rules were the width and offset of the wheels, the xxx/xx/xx of the tires and note whether or not any rubbing occurred and under what conditions. also, any pics would also help.

almost forgot, alignment angles would also be useful

is the front fine? I just threw 225/45-17 on my ride last night and im rubbin like a mofo. Not sure on the offset of my rims, tonight I'm going to try and roll the rears and add a little -camber to the front. I'm going to end up having to get new rims more than likely.

feel free to put how low your are but if you offset is wrong you will rub no matter how low your car is at rest. you will just rub more often.

I'm confused by this. With stock height, it is completely different. The width of the wheel + the wheel design plays a huge part and is correlated with the offset to produce a certain style of fitment on any car.

but the height shouldn't matter since as the suspension is compressed, assuming that all other suspension parts remain the same, the wheel and tire will sweep through the same arc. if the wheel and tire is too wide (your right that is a factor that i did not include in my original post) and the offset is wrong you will rub, be it on stock suspension or 2 inches of drop.

its a combination of all of those things, so all aspects should be listed. height, combined with camber and offset does make a difference.

people will end up asking, "if i'm dropped 2", will i rub with XXXX combo?" so you might as well list it.

I just rolled my rear fenders and added a little -camber up front and I only rub in a hard turn now. Would a stiff rear sway help any?
