04-05 to 02-03 tail light conversion, how to?

is it a straight swap? and how about the other way around? i searched and could not come up with any answers... i think(key word) i remember reading something a long time ago about a wiring issue...?

the turn signal and reverse bulbs/socket/pigtails are different. you will have to change those and then the tail lights will swap over.

Is it possible to pull the pins out of the old ('04-'05) connectors and use them in the new ('02-'03) ones, or do you have to cut/splice wires?
    TIA

I just pulled the pins and swapped them. Wasn't easy and the pins aren't a direct swap, but it works and the pins aren't going anywhere. There was also some shaving of the connectors required.

I have an 02-03 JDM rear taillights and my car is an 04 ep, so question is will 02-03 oem rear sockets work on my jdm tail lights? If so then I will only have to order the reverse sockets and turn signal sockets from the 02-03 ep3 right?

Why are you guys getting the older model taillight. I think 04-05 models looks much better than older one. Maybe it`s all red that`s why I don`t like it.

Its all preference, I like the jdm 02-03 tailights. Anyways so do the 02-03 oem taillights have the same exact plugs as the 02-03 jdm tails? If so then there is no need to get jdm specific sockets right?

I just bought mine from ebay and modified them so the 04-05 turn signal is moved where the JDM one is. Took 10 mins and did it on my friends ep also. The lights cost less than half of what the dealer charges and they have been great for over a year
