hmmm sounds to me like you need a "Helmes manual" for your EP. Those things tell you about every nook and cranny in the car. A good investment for those who plan to tinker with their civics. Anyone know if the Helmes is available yet?
i've been back there twice and i can't figure it out. is it those 2 metal things right behind the seats when you fold them down? i don't know, but i managed to break those black plastic thingies that hold the flap of the chair down. i want to reduce some weight so any help would be sweet. oh, i looked in the manual and didn't manage to find anything about the rear seats coming out. help. thanks.

yup.... helminc.com
its the service manual for $70 if i remember right
I hope this helps :D
I got the honda Service Manual that the techs get.... Muhahahahahaha!!! I took the pic with my webcam so the quality kinda stinks... I'll take a pic with my digi cam tomorrow that will be more clear...oh yeah and let me know if I'm breaking any copyright laws.
another thing....the manual says "To remove the seat-back, remove the front portion of the cargo floor mat."...theres a picture of this too, let me know if u want it...All it is....is 4 clips and u have to takeoff the child seat anchor before removing the cargo floor mat.

Gah! Contraband technical info!! :p
Seriously, if you're a total nut for your car, get the factory manual. Best thing to have lying around when the urge to carry out a project strikes...
umm.... aren't the helms manual the factory manual? cuz all the ones i got from helm look like the same one they have at the dealers
damn, that looks like alot of work. Apexin, if you don't mind and if it's not too much trouble could you post some pics of those pages describing the seat removal in detail. thanks alot. oh and you can hit me up on aim or email them to me instead of posting it here if you want. thanks alot.
I don't have a scanner...all I got is my digi cam :-( ...here are the 3 pages you'll need to remove the rear seats. Let me know if this helps or how I could further assist you.
very cool. thank you very much. i'll let you guys know how it goes.
ever get those back seats out fishboy, im curious is to how it looks, and how are the changes with that chunk of weight gone
It looks like this..
BlasTec weighed each part and posted everything, search for 'weight' and 'blastec' to find the thread.
They are almost identical to factory manuals honda dealer uses. For some reason when you buy from them, the one for the dealership is a different part number than one for DIY. I think the dealer one includes the electrica manual as well, while DIY is a separate book. And yes they are available on their website. Very good investment if you plan on doing any DIY. Had it for my 99 and 2001 CR-V. Funny thing is that I sold them on ebay for more than what I paid for from helms.Originally posted by Sooky
