the turn signal and reverse bulbs/socket/pigtails are different. you will have to change those and then the tail lights will swap over.
is it a straight swap? and how about the other way around? i searched and could not come up with any answers... i think(key word) i remember reading something a long time ago about a wiring issue...?

i was down in import alliance, and i guy asked if i wanted to switch taillights, i have a 03 and he had an 04-05, all we did was switch the pigtails of the reverse bulbs
Is it possible to pull the pins out of the old ('04-'05) connectors and use them in the new ('02-'03) ones, or do you have to cut/splice wires?
TIA
Cut and splice is easier thans pullin pins in my opinion
I just pulled the pins and swapped them. Wasn't easy and the pins aren't a direct swap, but it works and the pins aren't going anywhere. There was also some shaving of the connectors required.
wheres a good place to get 02-03 tail lights?
How would i go about swapping 02-03 headlights into my 05 Ep3? Do i need any extra parts/wiring?
I swapped out my 05' EP3's tailights about 1hr off the showroom floor with a tech at the dealer that drove an 03' EP3, we swapped harnesses and tailights.

Why are you guys getting the older model taillight. I think 04-05 models looks much better than older one. Maybe it`s all red that`s why I don`t like it.
I just bought mine from ebay and modified them so the 04-05 turn signal is moved where the JDM one is. Took 10 mins and did it on my friends ep also. The lights cost less than half of what the dealer charges and they have been great for over a year
