    Help! Car won't start

Okay guys, For some reason when it's cold outside my car won't start which is weird. My friend told me it could be the battery but I change it out about a year ago. It doesn't crank over but all the lights come on. When I jump the car it turns on. Could it be the starter or the battery?

hey man it could be a battery best thing would be to have it checked. i work at advance auto and we get a lot of bad batteries coming in when it gets cold. lol. have you ever heard grinding sounds when you start your car on cold mornings. the starters do act up on these cars in the cold as well.

I went to autozone and check the battery and it was good. For the starter wise it doesn't make any grinding noises. But when I put my battery back in my car after getting it started up just fine. So I still don't know what could it be

You had a questionable connection at the battery, the terminals and connectors need to be as clean and shiney as possible, clean them like you planned on eating off them!

It happens only in the cold. But I just cleaned them! Hopefully it solves the problem!

Cold weather will always exacerbate battery issues, especially corrosion on the terminals.

It might not hold a charge because of the immediate load it carries during startup with all your accessories. Make sure that all of your accessories aka anything that draws electricity (Fan, Radio/Music, Lights exterior and dome, Misc electronic chargers) are off before you start the car.

My suggestion is to take it to advance auto, autozone, and o'reileys, and have them "slow charge" the battery. It takes longer than a fast charge obviously, but its a lot better for your battery.

sounds like its discharged, if your battery was fine then its probably your alternator not charging it up...
