tire brand help

i don't know much about the tire brands so can you help me out? my rims are 16 inches x 7in. 40 offset ... i want to be able to drive in the rain and snow/all year round pretty much. what brands are you guys using? and i need a size to match the outer diameter of the stock rim and tire. thanks.

i have toyo t1s tires. they are great in both dry and wet weather, but ive heard they suck in snow.

Unfortunately there isn't really a tire that will excel in both performance and winter. For a good winter tire, you are better off getting a winter tire only. Then again some people don't like the noise you can get froma good gripping tire in dry pavement.

Although there are some good tires that are suppose to be good in both. I would then recommend Michelin Arctic Alpin's, or Bridgestone Blizzak's.

I'm using Yokohama Parada on my other car, it got really good grip on dry and wet (Don't know about snow, it never snow in SF..lol). But it got kinda noisy after 10K miles...

i don't live around snow, but i do like to snowboard and i go alot during the winter. well that's what chains are for, right? thanks for the responses. keep them coming.

how much for the yokohamas and toyos? i'm looking to spend about 400 for all 4 tires.

I bought mine thought tirerack, it's 18x40x225 and it cost only $138 a pop, I think it's bang for the buck :p

If you've got the money.....Pick up some steelies, and some used winter rubbers for the snowy season. I'd keep your alloys away from winter if I were you.

bfg gforce kdw tires are very nice and tirerack.com has the best prices whatever the size. shipped to your door usually for less than taxes would be. beat that and i'm there.

I have Michelin Pilot Sports ($170 at tirerack.com), damn tires cost more than my wheels...hehe, but they are very nice! I don't plan to drive in the snow with them...that's what I have my 4x4 SUV for. :)

most tire companies don't even offer 215/50 16" tires yet. i did a check bfg offers one. it was like $138 a tire. i wish Kumho would offer some.

Yokohama Parada spec2 here. 205/45 r17 at $120 ea. I like them; good grip, good looks, reasonable price, more road noise than stock.

cool, got some kumhos 712s, that's all they had in stock. i hear these are not good for the snow. i'll just pop on my stocks during winter. thanks for the replys.
