Just replaced my stock seats with new Brides and now my SRS light is on. I didn't think I had those side airbags. Anyone know why the SRS light is on???

Sorry I didn't do the install. It was done at the shop it's at now when the motor was built and turbo kit installed. Dunno about the plug, but I can go check. It's the stock seat belts, with stock buckles. And I don't know if the battery was disconnected or not.Originally Posted by japarossa
Ok you will need to make sure that the plug is plugged in then you will have to reset the srs system/light. There is a HOW TO here somewhere for reseting the airbag light/system. I have done the reset after racing with no passenger seat and it made my light go off.

You replaced the passenger seat too? Yea no, as I recall 99% of the SRS is controlled through the passenger seat. That SRS seat system is insane. Yes the box controls the SRS, but there are resistors and return power feeds through seat belts, buckles and even that stupid sensor that knows when your leaning or sitting wrong in the passenger seat. You can try the reset, but I really doubt it's going to fix the SRS light. When I did my race seat I only did the drivers seat so I wouldn't get a light on the dash.

He said he used the stock seat belts and buckles so I assumed he had moved all the srs parts over to the new seats but if not then no reseting the srs light won't work. If not using the complete srs system from the seats then you will have to do the procedure in this link to make the light go off.

while we're at it, i have FG seats, and the chasis side plugs for them. would anyone happen to know if i could wire them up to work?
When I did my stereo install, I took out my seats. When I turned the ignition on to check my install, the SRS sensor plugs for the seat were not hooked up. Even hooking them up meant the SRS light stayed on, so I had to clear the fault. If you still have a fault in the sensors, it will come on again. I think the SRS is disabled when there is a fault, so fixing it is important if you value the airbags.
I think the factory seats have a sensor to tell if there is someone heavy enough sitting in it for the airbag to go off in an accident. Otherwise, it won't deploy on someone too light or if the seat is empty. Sounds like you either don't have that plug hooked up, or the system is storing the previous fault.
it does store the fault, you have to clear it after fixing whatever was messed up. grab a fork, and get under the steering wheel.

theres a resistor fix for it, its either a 2ohm or 5 ohm, stick it in the empty connectors and do the reset above.

Not a big deal, you had the battery connected when you unplugged the srs plugs under the seat. Just do the reset, problem solved
If you have an 04-05 EP, you should have side airbags OEM. If that's the case, Jump the yellow connectors under the seats with a 2 ohm circuit board resistor (***make sure the battery is disconnected first***).
You'll still get an SRS light because there's still no OPDS in the aftermartket seats. You have to transfer #19 and the sensors taped to cushion #5 on the image below to the seats you are putting in.
OPDS module - #19
OPDS sensors (taped to cushion - 3 in total) - #5
That should solve all our issues with the f***ing SRS light

I said it earlier in the post but will say it again do this http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthr...-Harness/page3 if you want the airbag light to be off with aftermarket seats. The airbag light is coming on because the seat belt buckle that is attatched to your oem seat isn't there so if you do this DIY you will "trick" the airbag system into thinking that it is there.
