    ctr shift knob

Just got my CTR Shift knob in the mail, took me 30 sec to install, and it kicks ass! The little chrome cap on the top of the shift boot was just a quick clip (didnt even have to take the boot off). Now i can tell all my friends that my car has JDM stuff on it (he he) put their spoon reservor covers to shame.:D

Yeah its the real deal, 6 spd shift pattern and all, but I guess it's not really JDM. Its from a guy in the UK with a wrecked CTR. I had to pay 50 pounds for it (including shipping), but i got the knob, and the boot with it. Not too bad i think.

    You're putting a 6spd knob on a 5spd car?

Why not get the 5spd ITR knob instead?

Well i really dont care that the pattern doesent match up, plus if i ever do the typ-S swap, i'll have the perfect shift knob.

b/c I don't have money yet, I've had that knob for 6 months and just decided to put it in the car.

Doesn't the CTR use the same boot as us? or do you mean the black leather/red stitching boot that doesn't fit in our car without modification because it's square and ours is round?

the 6 speed knob is sort of dangerous on a 5 speed car, i had an ek civic and i had a s2000 knob, my dad took my car out of town for economic reasons and tried to shift into 6th and realized their wasnt a 6th

but i really think it looks tight and very jdm/ukdm

    Ya think?

I think "preparing for a type S swap" by getting a $30 knob is rice.

Why not mount an intercooler in preparation of a turbo?

Actually the shift boot is EXACTLY THE SAME, its just the chrome cap on the top of the boot that needs to be changed ( 10 second job)

I think "preparing for a type S swap" by getting a $30 knob is rice.
I never really said I was "preparing" for a type-s swap, I said:

Well i really dont care that the pattern doesent match up, plus if i ever do the typ-S swap, i'll have the perfect shift knob
Either way, rice or not, i think i'm one of the only people in canada who's done the swap, so i'm still cool in my book:)
